The Clarksville-Montgomery County School System included Digital Blended Learning (DBL) as part of the strategic work for the 2017-18 school year. Many new student computers were purchased this year helping the district get closer to a one to one model. The goal of being a Digitally Blended School System makes the work of Technology Integration Coaches more vital than ever. Teachers are using Google Classroom, Canvas, Office 365, and other programs to deliver assignments and content. Digital content supplements traditional textbooks like never before. Teachers benefit from the work of Technology Integration Coaches because they are able to request help with a variety of educational tech-related topics. Whether learning to use a new program implemented by the school system, like Power School or learning how to get the most out of their Windows 10 operating system, the Technology Integration Coach delivers.
Julie Combs joined the TIC team in August of 2016. Her experience as a Computer Literacy Teacher at Richview Middle School in a one to one setting lends itself to helping teachers across the district with implementing tech-enhanced lessons for their students. Julie has three degrees, 25 years of teaching experience, is a Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert and Master Trainer, a Google Level 1 Certified teacher, Seesaw Ambassador, Nearpod Certified Educator, and has a love of technology to help her as she works with CMCSS faculty and students to make Digital Blended Learning a reality.
